If your solar installer goes out of business, you should still be covered by the manufacturer's warranty for the panels themselves. However, the installer's warranty may not be enforceable unless another company buys the manufacturer's assets and honors it. Bankruptcy law considers warranties unsecured liabilities, so they may be wiped out .
If your equipment manufacturer goes out of business, your installer is still contractually obligated to honor your warranty. However, if your installer and manufacturer end up bankrupt, you could risk losing any warranty protection.
